LAB CYCLE
Our core program at DLNY is the Lab Cycle - a residency in which selected choreographers receive a salary, expansive studio space, professional dancers, a rehearsal director, digital assets and support from DLNY staff so they can incubate new work without pressure to produce a finished product. This revolutionary new model provides a structured, professional environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration, and the risk taking needed for true creative discovery.
DLNY CONNECT
Our DLNY Connect mentorship initiative is a unique program that pairs emerging choreographers, 18 and over, with established mentors in the field. Participants are mentored in a Lab utilizing studio space and dancers from area university dance and theatre departments.
DLNY NEXTGEN
DLNY NextGen is designed to help young choreographers, 18 and under, unleash their creative potential by providing them with robust guidance from professionals in the field.
ALCHEMY PROJECTS
Alchemy Projects represent our collaborations with other arts institutions. By combining resources, DLNY and other arts organizations provide access and increased visibility for dancemakers. Utilizing the model of our Lab Cycle, these groundbreaking partnerships establish, bolster, and/or sustain residency programs that serve to empower the collective missions of arts organizations in our community.
BROADWAY CHOREOGRAPHY INTENSIVE
Our one-of-a-kind Broadway Choreography Intensive serves to inspire and educate aspiring musical theatre choreographers, ages 18 to 29. Students are granted unprecedented access to a faculty of working professionals and participate in daily lectures, styles classes, and choreography workshops.
BESPOKE
Bespoke Labs were created to help creative teams achieve a tailor-made lab by utilizing our unique model for pre-production. DLNY offers technical support, general management services and casting, specifically for the incubation of dance and choreographic elements in a production—be that a musical, ballet, opera, play, commercial, movie, immersive show, concert, etc.
